13 January, 2021
Hyundai will recall 180,000 Tucson SUVs here over a threat of fires in the faulty anti-lock brake program.
It previously started recalling 471,000 Tucson SUVs in the U.S. for the same reason the other day. It said a brief circuit in defective anti-lock brake circuit boards could cause a fire regardless if engines are off and asked U.S. Tucson owners to recreation area their automobiles outdoor until they will be repaired.
Recall targets are some Tucsons made in 2016-2018 and found in 2020-2021.
Hyundai is recalling the same styles in Korea. "We already submitted a preliminary are accountable to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport last week. We will recall the SUVs after mailing a full report to the ministry in February," a spokesman said.
Last September, the automaker recalled 180,000 Tucson SUVs in the U.S. and 50,000 SUVs here to repair the same problem.
