Hyundai Veloster N Wins Over Driving Enthusiasts
18 February, 2019
Hyundai's high-performance Veloster N series is fast establishing itself as a "fun car."
Developed with the priority on enhanced driving thrills, the N brand was launched in 2017 in Europe as the i30N, followed by the fastback version released in Korea in June last year.
Hyundai on Sunday said sales of the car here in the last seven months reached 1,349 units, or around 200 per month.
Considering its sturdy design and unique retro features like no automatic transmission, the carmaker said sales surpassed expectations.
Based on a poll of 71 buyers, most were younger people who love to drive. Quite a few were first-time buyers and half had bought no more than four cars in their lifetime. The majority of buyers were active members of car owners' clubs or driving enthusiasts.
Hyundai said, "We plan to expand the N lineup and raise both the brand's image and technical capacity."
