A long-awaited Instagram feature which allows people to include music with their Stories has finally been offered in Indonesia.
Instagram users in Indonesia discovered on Wednesday that these were able to use snippets of a common songs on the Instagram Stories, a prominent Instagram feature employed by a lot more than 400 million users each day.
The new feature, Instagram Music, contains a library packed with songs that can be browsed by simply searching the name of a specific artist, song or album.
It was first launched in select countries in June 28, 2018, including the United States, UK, Germany, Canada, France, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand.
It was made available in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and all of those other Middle East early this March, with Malaysia following suit.
A representative of Instagram Indonesia said one of the obstacles to making Instagram Music obtainable in certain regions was licensing, kompas.com reported. The company first had to obtain the required song licenses that could let it legally make the music open to Indonesian users.
Prior to the feature's Indonesian launch on Wednesday, users were still able to watch Stories that had songs mounted on them but were not able to really hear any music without assistance from a VPN.
The launch was welcomed by Indonesians across social media platforms, a lot of whom expressed their happiness and disbelief if they first heard bout the feature’s availability.
“Oh??? instagram music finally works here lol,” @wsbdj tweeted.
“Finally got the instagram music sticker without VPN," said Twitter user @aphroudeath.
Indonesian users also learned another feature that was offered on Instagram, called Reels, which allows them to create multi-clip videos with preset audios and effects on their 15-second Stories.
