With Lionel Messi’s future at FC Barcelona still uncertain, he may potentially link up with a couple of of his son’s favourite players. Remember the six stars Messi’s eldest Thiago "really likes"?

The 33-year-old has always remarked that he is a family person and even spilled the beans about how difficult it had been to tell his children about his intentions to leave Barcelona in advance the current campaign.

"Mateo continues to be little and he doesn't realise what this means to go someplace else and make your life a couple of years elsewhere," he told Goal in an exclusive interview last year.

"Thiago, he is older. He listened to something on TV and discovered something and asked.

"I didn't want him to learn anything about being forced to leave, to need to live in a fresh school, or make new friends.

"He cried if you ask me and said 'let's not go'. I repeat that it had been hard, really.”
