Koeman Turns Down Two Signings At Barca
Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign two certain players for the Catalan giants.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, the Dutchman has told Blaugrana president Joan Laporta and his scouting team that he feels that Cristian Romero and Renato Sanches would not be good fits for his side.

It is claimed that Koeman has been given backing by Laporta and his board, with Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia being signings that he wanted.

Regarding Atalanta centre-back Romero, it is believed the Dutch tactician felt that adding the 23-year-old to his squad could have caused issues due to the depth he has at his disposal in defence.

The ex-Netherlands boss was reportedly desperate to land Garcia's signature from Manchester City and eventually did, and is now seemingly pleased with the options he has for the position, with Ronald Araujo emerging last season to compete with the likes of Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti for game time.

Romero, though, is tipped for a bright future after playing a key role in Argentina's 2021 Copa America triumph in Brazil earlier this month.

As for Portugal international Sanches, Koeman is said to be happy with his midfield options for the time being, and was apparently not convinced the Lille star would get consistent first-team football at the Camp Nou if he did join.
