Mackie bothered by MCU's insufficient diversity
01 July, 2020
Anthony Mackie, who plays the role of Sam Wilson or perhaps Falcon in Marvel Cinematic Universe, has drop hard on the lack of men and women of color on the cast and crew of MCU films. He said even while speaking for Variety's Actors on Actors series, "It really bothered me that I've done seven Marvel videos where every producer, every director, ever stunt person, every costume custom made, every PA, each and every person has been light."
He took the example of 'Black Panther', an MCU movie that was widely praised because of its all-black cast, strong female characters, and respectful depiction of African cultures, and said, "That's more racist than other things.
Because if you only can seek the services of the Black persons for the Black film, are you telling they're inadequate once you have a mainly white cast?"The MCU features been criticized because of its insufficient representation since the start.
Marvel Studios did not release a female-centric motion picture until 'Captain Marvel' in 2019. And the simply female superhero in the good old safeguard of the Avengers - 'Black Widow' - was generally sidelined and only male superheroes.
