Neymar Called A 'Spoiled Brat'
05 October, 2021
Following Paris Saint-Germain's shock defeat in Ligue 1 on the weekend, Neymar was labelled a "spoiled brat".
The 29-year-old was taken off during the French giants' 2-0 loss to Stade Rennais on Sunday afternoon, with the Brazilian having scored just one goal in seven matches so far this season.
Questions over his role and importance in the side have been raised since Lionel Messi's arrival, questions ex-PSG star Edouard Cisse seems intent on answering.
The club icon, who made 259 appearances for Les Parisiens during his playing days, feels the ex-Barcelona winger has been lost since becoming the world's most expensive signing of all time in 2017.
"At Barcelona, there was a structure," Cisse told Le Parisien.
"(Neymar) had a cleaner style of play, although he dribbled more.
"His job was to break the defensive line, make the difference and pass the ball to General Messi. He did it so well that he became his 'alter ego'.
"In Paris, they gave him the keys and they let him do what he wanted. In one moment, he was lost.
"He is a great player, no one can dispute that, but he has become a spoiled brat and he bosses everyone around."
Speaking after the game, manager Mauricio Pochettino appeared to sidestep the question as to why Neymar was substituted with 15 minutes left of their match on Sunday.
"The first person in charge is me. What we did for 25 minutes was of very good quality. We must be able to extend this for 90 minutes," he said.
"The psychological impact of both goals at key moments has been significant. I am satisfied in one sector, we have created a lot of situations and opportunities."
