Neymar Sends Ronaldo Nazario A Message With Celebration
15 October, 2020
With Neymar overtaking Ronaldo Nazario in Brazil's all-time top goalscorers ranking on Wednesday morning, he sent the legendary No. 9 a note with his celebration through the game and on social media afterward.
The 28-year-old struck a significant hat-trick in the Selecao's 4-2 victory over Peru within their latest 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier in the first hours of Wednesday morning, which saw him become his country's second-best international scorer ever sold.
With 64 goals, Neymar is now two strikes before ex-Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker Ronaldo, and the Paris Saint-Germain forward even prepared a tribute for him as he broke his record.
After scoring the first goal of his brace in the first half against Peru, Neymar organized nine fingers to salute Ronaldo, who is generally known as "R9", and took to Twitter following the game to tweet: "All my respect for you personally, PHENOMENON."
