19 November, 2020
With it often being claimed that Lionel Messi is involved with FC Barcelona's transfer decisions, a former Blaugrana director has reportedly revealed which superstar the Argentine wanted the club to sign.
Ex - Barcelona director Javier Bordas seemingly gave up a number of the club's secrets throughout a new interview with COPE and Radio MARCA, including how close they found signing Kylian Mbappe.
Bordas also exposed on Messi's situation in the club, with the Blaugrana captain wanting to keep the Camp Nou in the newest transfer window.
"The continuity of Messi is determined by how he sees the workforce," he said.
"If he sees they are capable of winning trophies, he'll want to remain, he has always been respectful with all his decisions."
He also claimed that Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar is the only person Messi has asked the table to signal, with it being no key that the Argentine wants the Brazilian back again at the club.
"If he (Messi) asked for signings, he sought Neymar," Bordas added.
Neymar came near time for the Camp Nou in 2019, and was again associated with a transfer back again to the Catalan giants this season.
On the other hand, he stayed in Paris over both occasions, and today appears set to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 giants.
