PSG To Offer Mbappe Bigger Contract Than Messi?
In an apparent last-ditch effort to hold on to Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly looking to offer the French phenomenon a more lucrative contract than seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi.

Mbappe, who is out of contract at the Parc des Princes at the end of this season, has hinted that he sees himself playing football outside of France in the near future, further fuelling rumours he could potentially join Real Madrid as a free agent.

With Messi being the highest earner at PSG, whose wage bill is understood to exceed €300 million (R5.2 billion), it is now being reported by the Daily Mirror that the French club's hierarchy are prepared to make Mbappe their best-paid player in a bid to convince him to extend his stay. Les Parisiens are also said to be willing to make the contract a short-term extension, unlike Los Blancos who are believed to want to spread the attacker's wages over a six-year period. It is claimed the French giants will offer Mbappe a two-year deal, allowing the striker to have better flexibility over his career ahead.

The France forward, who has already rejected multiple offers of an extension from the Parisians, recently stated that he is not in football for the money.

"Human ties are much more fascinating (than money)," Mbappe told RMC Sport.

"I am thirsty above all for discoveries, trips, meetings with players, different cultures.

"I have a quiet relationship with money: I know it's important, I'm happy to have it, but that's not what drives me every second of the day."
