Rooney Responds To Links With Man Utd After Solskjaer Sacking
Derby County manager Wayne Rooney has responded to speculation linking him with the Manchester United job after the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian was relieved of his duties on Sunday after the Red Devils' humiliating defeat to Watford the evening before.

A number of names have been linked with the position in recent weeks, including Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino and Brendan Rodgers.

However, Rooney has no plans to replace his former teammate at Old Trafford, and remains committed to the Championship outfit.

"As I've said before, I'm committed to this football club until someone above me tells me otherwise," he said, as per Manchester Evening News.

"I speak to people at Manchester United on a regular basis so I'm sure if they were to come calling it would have already happened.

"I'm committed to Derby County and until someone says 'You're not welcome to be the manager here', I'm here."

Michael Carrick has been put in charge on a temporary basis until the club find an interim manager for the rest of the season.
