Venue: Anfield

Jurgen Klopp made two changes from the loss to West Ham United as Thiago Alcantara and Konstantinos Tsimikas replaced Jordan Henderson and Andrew Robertson.

The game got off to a cagey start, although the Reds enjoyed a lot more of the possession in the opening 15 minutes without doing much in the final third.

While there wasn't much entertainment on the pitch, there was a bit of drama on the touchline as Klopp and Mikel Arteta got into a heated argument and had to be separated.

The game sprung into life after that when Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale pulled off a double save to keep out Thiago's volley and deny Mane on the rebound.

It was becoming Liverpool versus Ramsdale as the half went on, as Salah was denied at close range on 35 minutes by tipping his strike over the cross.

Ramsdale's resistance was eventually broken a few minutes later when Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick found Mane, who nodded past the Arsenal shot-stopper for the opening goal.

The Reds carried that momentum into the second as Diogo Jota pounced on poor pass from Nuno Tavares before skipping past Ramsdale to slot into an empty net.

Arteta responded with a double change soon after as Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Martin Odegaard replaced Alexandre Lacazette and Albert Sambi Lokonga.

However, Klopp's charges went on to bag a third goal in the 73rd minute as Jota sent Mane down the left and the Senegalese unselfishly picked out Salah for the simple finish.

The rout did not stop there as substitute Takumi Minamino made it 4-0 with his first touch on 77 minutes after being set up by Alexander-Arnold.
