Salah Stars As Liverpool Punish Struggling Leicester
Liverpool kept their top-four ambitions alive with a 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Leicester City on Monday night.

Result: Leicester City 0-3 Liverpool

Venue: King Power Stadium

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp made two changes from the win over Brentford, as Jordan Henderson and Luis Daiz replaced Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, who missed out through injury.

The Foxes carved out the first chance on 12 minutes when James Maddison's superb through ball found Harvey Barnes, who played in Jamie Vardy in the box but the strike was saved by Alisson Becker. It took a while for the visitors to get going and they got the breakthrough on 32 minutes when Mohamed Salah did well to pick out the on-running Curtis Jones, who slotted into the far corner.

The visitors had the ball in the back of the net once again two minutes later through the same combination as Jones collected a pass from Salah before rifling the ball past Daniel Iversen.

The goals seemed to knock the wind out of Leicester's sail for the remainder of the first half, as the visiting side went into the break with a comfortable two-goal lead.

Foxes manager Dean Smith looked to his bench on the hour mark, as Zambian star Patson Daka and Tete replaced Ndidi and Barnes as they looked to reduce the deficit.

However, it was Liverpool who got the next goal in spectacular fashion as Salah teed up Trent Alexander-Arnold, who sent a fine curling strike into the top corner to open up a three-goal advantage.

Salah could have had a goal of his own with ten minutes to play after being slipped in on goal by Cody Gakpo, but the Reds striker placed his strike wide of the mark with only Iversen to beat.

In the end, three goals were enough to get the job done on the night as they moved to within a point of Manchester United, who have a game in hand.
