Jurgen Klopp rang the changes after the Reds loss to Brighton and Hove Albion, with Thiago Alcantara, Cody Gakpo and Ibrahima Konate among the players to keep their spots in the line-up.
Wolves looked lively in the early stages but it was Liverpool who broke the deadlock on 13 minutes when Harvey Elliot was given time and space to fire home a superb strike from 25 yards out.

The hosts struggled to get a hold of the ball after that as Thiago Alcantara started dictating play for the Reds, who went in search of a second goal. Wolves did manage to cause an opening five minutes before the break with a ball over the top for Adama Traore, who failed to hit the target from a tight angle. The hosts responded with a double change at the start of the second half, as reported Reds target Matheus Nunes and Nelson Semedo coming on to the park.
Klopp would look to his bench after the hour mark, with Mohamed Salah, Nathan Philips and Curtis Jones replacing Gakpo, James Milner and Fabio Carvalho.
Wolves were presented with a chance to equalise from a set-piece in a great position on the edge of the box, but Ruben Neves' effort sailed inches over Caoimhin Kelleher's crossbar.
The host had a chance to equalise on 87 minutes when a neat passing move ended with Diego Costa teeing up Matheus Cunha, who blazed horribly wide from close range.
Klopp's charges were able to see out the closing stages of the second half to hold on for the win, which will see them face Brighton and Hove Albion in the next round.
