Samsung's New Foldable Phone Faces Delays Due to Screen Problems
Samsung has decided to postpone this week's launch of its foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, after screen troubles emerged in review units the company offered to tech reporters.

The screen of Samsung's Galaxy Fold is broken in this photo tweeted by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
The electronics giant said on its website on Tuesday, "To evaluate [the] feedback and run further internal tests, we have decided to delay the release of the Galaxy Fold. We plan to announce the release date in the coming weeks."

The phone was scheduled to be released in the U.S. on Friday.

Samsung distributed the foldable device to American tech reporters last week for review ahead of the official release. But some complained that the foldable screen developed bulges or went dark after blinking on and off.

The decision will affect the company's other planned promotions including media events in Hong Kong and Shanghai, Germany, Italy and Spain this week. The phone was also due out in mid-May in Korea, but that may change as well.
