Samsung's Smartphone Market Share in Japan Triples in Q3

Samsung's smartphone sales grew on-year in the third quarter of this year in Japan.
Market research firm Strategy Analytics said on Friday the Korean handset maker sold half a million smartphones from July to September to account for 6.7 percent of the Japanese market.
The figure is down from 9.8 percent the previous quarter, but up from 2.4 percent a year ago.
Apple remained the most popular smartphone brand in Japan, with an overwhelming market share of 62.7 percent.
