Young director Ranadeep Sarker who recently wrapped up the shoot of his next film 'Adelante' has released the official trailer and it has recently created a great deal of buzz. The slice-of-a-life drama stars Suzi Bhowmik, Sayantani Guhathakurata and Abhinandan Sarkar in pivotal roles.
The plot revolves around Suzi, a transgender woman who is being tortured and harassed both physically and mentally by the age-old beliefs of society. She soon becomes suicidal while struggling to create peace with the mental pressure. Will she be saved or be destroyed? These suicidal thoughts are like cancer which is spreading in the current youth rapidly.
Whoever has ever googled the word "transgender" knows that it returns an overwhelming cornucopia of results. There's a good amount of listicles that tell you how (and how not) to connect to trans folks, petitions and only or against trans rights, and way too many stories about trans people who've been murdered or assaulted. 'Adelante' tries to think about this grave issue. As the DOP is Tanoy roy, vocals and mixing have already been done by Subhadeep Saha. Script and dialogue are by Samrat Sekhar Mandal.
