Several Clubs Want EPL Season Cancelled With 'Immediate Effect'

Reports appearing out of England claim that several Premier League clubs want the 2019/2020 season to be finished immediately, which spells bad news for Liverpool.
The Premier League and the rest of the EFL campaigns have been suspended until April 30 because of coronavirus outbreak, which includes seen major sporting codes around the world suspended.
On Thursday evening, the English FA made a decision to cancel the National Leagues from tiers three to six, meaning results have been spunged and you will have no promotion or relegation.
It remains to be seen whethere or not that will happen in the Premier League, although the Athletic report that several clubs feel the problem will not improve any time in the future and that season ought to be cancelled.
The Mirror claim another shareholders meeting, via Skype, is scheduled for April, with this issue of cancelling the season reported to be on the agenda.
One high-ranking source at a club told the Athletic, "I’m hoping the situation changes at that time but unfortunately, the world is changing and it’s changing for the worse each day.
“It’s absolutely clear what will happen. It’s a worldwide pandemic. You merely start (the Premier League season) again and there are very few losers. Liverpool, I understand. But in the grand scheme of things, honestly, it certainly doesn’t matter. You’ve just got to get started on again.
“If they want to say, ‘This season is over and it will be recommencing with the ultimate nine games being played out in September’, fantastic. But if that’s not feasible. Just end this league with whatever consequences which has. End it and say the new league begins in September."
