11 September, 2021
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a final decision on Cristiano Ronaldo's return amid reports that it could be delayed.
The Portuguese star reported for duty with the Red Devils on Tuesday after getting permission to leave the national camp early.
There were reports that the Ronaldo's second debut could be delayed due to the coronavirus rules, but Solskjaer has confirmed he will play some part against Newcastle United.
"He's had a good week with us here," Solskjaer said, as per the Sun.
"He'll definitely be on the pitch at some point, that's for sure."
Ronaldo is now set to come up against one of his favourite opponents in the Premier League, having registered 11 goals in 11 games against the Magpies.
The Portuguese also got his first and only United hat-trick against the North West during the 2007/2008 season at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have opened the Premier League season with two wins and a draw and they will look to keep the unbeaten run going on Saturday afternoon.
