'Ronaldo Should Not Have Left In A Private Jet'
05 September, 2021
A former Juventus star has criticised for the way Cristiano Ronaldo left the club to secure a return to Manchester United.
Ronaldo finished the 2020/2021 Serie A campaign as top scorer although the Turin outfit only managed to secure fourth-placed finish on the final day of the campaign.
Moise Kean came in as the only other replacement for Ronaldo after Alvaro Morata's loan move from Atletico Madrid was extended.
Former Juventus Alessio Tacchinardi was not pleased with how Ronaldo's departure leaves his former club in a difficult position for the season.
"Ronaldo should have left in a different way, not on his private jet while [Massimiliano] Allegri was talking to the team before the game against Empoli. I expected a press conference to say goodbye to the fans. They deserved something different," he told Tuttosport.
"There are no more legends such as [Alessandro] Del Piero, [Francesco] Totti, [Paolo] Maldini or [Javier] Zanetti, but it wasn’t nice to hear from Ronaldo that he was going back to a place he feels like home.
"He put Juventus in a difficult situation, leaving a few days before the end of the transfer window, it is impossible to replace a goal machine like him."
