Kylian Mbappe's future remains unclear heading into the new season, but here is the latest on the Frenchman with Lionel Messi reportedly set to arrive.
The French striker is now in the final year of his contract and there is no indication he will sign an extension in the next few months.
With Messi reportedly set to arrive in the French capital this season, Marca have reported that one player might need to leave to balance the books.
Even with Messi's arrival this season, Mbappe has not changed his mind about not signing an extension but he is in no rush to leave the club during this transfer window.
Marca have reported that the 2018 World Cup winner is determined to wear the white of Los Blancos and it doesn't matter it's this year or next when he can leave for free.
It is believed that signing Messi means would complicate matters for the French club with regards to the Financial Fair Play rules and the club could see fit to get a fee of around 150 million for Mbappe rather than lose him for nothing in 2022.
As a result, the report added that Los Blancos are expecting a call from PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi before the end of the transfer window, especially after the Messi has signed.
