Uniqlo Shuts straight down Flagship Store in Korea
01 February, 2021
Japanese budget clothing retailer Uniqlo turn off its flagship store in Myeong-dong, downtown Seoul, in Sunday.
Since starting in November 2011, the retailer had attracted both Korean and foreign shoppers to the glitzy commercial district, but declining sales as a result of boycott of Japanese businesses compounded by the coronavirus pandemic sounded the death knell (US$1=W1,118).
Uniqlo shut down scores of outlets found in Korea last year and today has only 150, straight down from 190 in late 2019.
