Vivobarefoot aims to operate a vehicle change with a renewed concentrate on hero products

Vivobarefoot’s director of sustainability, Emma Foster-Geering added: “Found in 2019 we brought the creation of most services to a halt to totally overhaul our design approach. We are focused on and working towards hardly ever bringing anything to market that does not encounter our regenerative sustainability goals.
“The compounding impact of ‘the bottom of the iceberg’, that being globalised supply chains making unsustainable products, is no longer allowed inside our business, nor should it be in the market at all.”

The shoe industry continues to focus solely on growth, rarely reviewing the impact their current product ranges are experiencing on the environment, and frequently introduces new products to drive an often ‘greenwashing’ led communication which “protectionist attitude is damaging our world,” states Vivobarefoot.
That is why, Vivobarefoot explains that it needs to have a stand, and that is why it really is prioritising the de-growth of the business enterprise model for products and functions that aren’t sufficient to take forward in to the future.
Within their regenerative ambitions, Vivobarefoot want to utilize value chain partners who provide more sustainable materials and are focused on their regenerative journey.
Currently, all of the Vivobarefoot footwear is produced using sustainably sourced natural, bio and recycled materials, and it adds that the renewed focus to improve its hero products is an integral part of their journey to “taking their footwear from very good, to more sustainable and finally to totally regenerative for human foot health insurance and the planet”.
Vivobarefoot can be tracking their progress by launching the VMatrix, a good design tool for regenerative footwear, and have used their B Corp concepts to track the influence their sneakers is having from design, completely to footwear end of lifestyle. The footwear company have scored a 98.8 on its official B Corporation certification.
The target it adds is to create “minimal footwear with maximal impact” that is better for folks, their feet and the earth.
Last year the footwear manufacturer launched the world’s primary recondition footwear support ReVivo, an initiative that sees worn and returned Vivobarefoot shoes revived, reconditioned, keeping shoes in feet and from landfill.
Vivobarefoot also launched the Livebarefoot Base, an in-house effects hub, catalysing exploration, advocacy and enterprise-based solutions for environmental and social concerns.
