Coppa Italia
Result: AC Milan 4-2 Torino (After extra-time)
Date: 28 January 2020
Venue: San Siro
Zlatan Ibrahimovic came off the bench to help AC Milan book a spot in the Coppa Italia semi-finals after defeating Torino in a six-goal thriller.
Ibrahimovic had to settle for a spot on the bench, as Ante Rebic and Krzysztof Piatek led the attack for Milan, who entered the clash on the back of three straight Serie A wins.
Rebic's inclusion paid off in the early stages as the Croatian forward turned provider to pick out Giacomo Bonaventura who opened the scoring after 12 minutes.
Torino were eager to restore some pride in this encounter after suffering a humiliating 7-0 loss at the hands of Atalanta on on home this past weekend.
The visitors did manage to get themselves back on level terms in the 32nd minute when Bremer turned home a cross from Simone Verdi for his second goal of the season.
Despite enjoying most of the possession in the opening half, the Rossoneri were unable to carve out another serious opening to restore their advantage.
With the hosts struggling to find a second goal, Milan coach Stefano Pioli opted to withdraw Piatek just after the hour mark as Ibrahimovic made his way onto the pitch.
Milan were made to pay for not taking advantage of their dominance as the visitors completed the turnaround in the 71st minute, with Bremer completing his brace.
However, the hosts managed to send the game into extra-time after Hakan Calhanoglu found the back of the net in the first minute of time added on.
The hosts took control in extra-time as Calhanoglu bagged his second of the game in the 106th minute to put his side back in front, before the contests was sealed two minutes later as Ibrahimovic got his name on the score-sheet with his second goal for the Italian giants since joining earlier this month.
