Di Maria: What Messi Told Me After Final

Argentina star Angel Di Maria has revealed what teammate Lionel Messi told him after their 2021 Copa America final triumph over Brazil on Sunday.
Di Maria was the hero in Rio de Janeiro after scoring the game's only goal in the first half to hand Argentina their first Copa America since 1993.
Both Di Maria and Messi have suffered final heartbreak with their national side over the years, including the 2014 FIFA World Cup decider in Brazil.
Having now lifted the Copa America, the Paris Saint-Germain star, who was named Man of the Match for the final, revealed that his countryman thanked him after the encounter and told him the match belonged to him.
"It's going to be unforgettable," Di Maria said after the game. "Messi told me thanks to me, I said thanks to him!
"He told me that it was my final, that it was the rematch for the finals that I couldn't play. It had to be today and today it was.
"I am happy for my daughters, my wife, my parents, all the people who supported us and for all the crazy people who came here.
"A World Cup is coming up soon and this is a huge boost."
