Ghana FA Sent Message Over 'Bad' Refereeing
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been sent a strong message regarding the poor officiating that has caused such controversy in the country of late.

Earlier this month, Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko filed a formal complaint against match official Julian Nunoo following his performance in the team's 3-2 loss to King Faisal.

The incident came only two weeks after the Match Review Panel of the GFA recommended the suspension of four top officials in the country following their own indiscretions.

The controversy surrounding the officiating seems to now have caught the attention of the leader of the Ashanti Empire, his Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who warned that the Ghana Premier League will suffer should the refereeing standard in the country not improve quickly.

"If you don't make sure to protect the game from bad officiating, it will spoil the game," he said, according to GHANAsoccernet.

"We also have to be trustful because if we don't get a worthy winner for our league, they will easily fall off when it matters most (Africa competition).

"Thus, is because the rules work perfectly at this highest level. The referees should be firm in their calls if it's a penalty, they should take it and should hesitate to do same when it's offside."
