Global Pandemic Radar for fighting Covid variants declared by Boris Johnson
UK Primary Minister Boris Johnson will start plans for a fresh Global Pandemic Radar to recognize coronavirus variants and monitor new diseases all over the world.

“Tackling Covid-19 globally and guaranteeing we are better well prepared for future health threats is an complete priority for the UK’s G7 presidency,” Mr Johnson stated before Friday’s start of the project, prior to the Global Health Summit hosted by Italy and the EU.

“The world must hardly ever be caught unawares again by a virus spreading in our midst unchecked.

"We need to build a system of disease surveillance in shape for the 21st century, with real-time data sharing and quick genomic sequencing and response."

The pathogen surveillance network aims to get this technique, enabling the rapid production of vaccines, solutions and tests.

Mr Johnson spoke to the Director Basic of the World Wellbeing Organisation, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and Wellcome Trust director Jeremy Farrar on Thursday about another steps for the task prior to the G7 summit, which the UK is hosting found in June.

The WHO will lead an implementation group, supported by the Wellcome Trust, to start the new international partnership.

Work on tracking potential pandemics has already been under way, and earlier in-may, a WHO center for pandemic and epidemic intelligence was unveiled found in Berlin.

The WHO surveillance first discovered the B1617 Indian variant, which is now present in 50 countries and has jeopardised the UK’s timetable for lifting Covid restrictions.

The Global Pandemic Radar is expected to be fully up and running with a network of surveillance centres prior to the end of 2021.

Mr Johnson first needed a global network of disease surveillance centres in a five-point system presented to the UN Reliability Council last September.
