Hyundai to Build Korea's Largest Test-Driving Center
18 June, 2020
Hyundai announced Wednesday it'll build the country's largest driving centre in Taean, South Chungcheong Province with a view to opening it in the earliest half of 2022.
Featuring eight test training, the new driving center is supposed to supply visitors with dynamic traveling experiences that will push vehicles to their limit.
To be built about 1.26 million sq.m of land, it'll be five times the size of the current major testing service, the BMW Driving Centre in Incheon.
Hyundai signed a 20-yr agreement with Hankook Tire and Technology to jointly make use of a proving ground Hankook is building, which is Asia's largest when it's completed.
Hyundai will build their own special driving facilities and a good two-story setting up for customers that will have a person lounge, children's area and display rooms.
Hyundai chairman Chung Eui-sun and Hankook Tire vice chairman Cho Hyun-sik signed the offer in Seoul on Wednesday.
The driving center will be built on land reclaimed simply by Hyundai Group under founder Chung Ju-yung in the 1980s. Hankook Tire bought the property from Hyundai City Company in 2017 to build the proving surface, and proposed the idea to build a driving center to Hyundai to help make the almost all of the facility.
