Koeman On His Relationship With Messi

New FC Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has addressed the problem surrounding Lionel Messi following the six-time Ballon d'Or winner requested to leave the club.
Last month, the Argentine managed to get clear he did not wish to be at the Catalan club for the 2020/21 season, but was finally forced to remain by president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the board.
In a tell-all interview, the 33-year-old said the Barcelona chief had not been a guy of his word, claiming that he told Messi throughout last season he'd be absolve to leave the Camp Nou in this transfer window.
It was a tense situation for everyone associated with the Blaugrana, but new boss Koeman has suggested that he and Messi are getting along fine, insisting the problem was with the captain and the club's board.
"Which has passed me reasonably well," he told Fox Sports.
"That was mainly a conflict between Messi and the club. I've spoken to Messi since that time and we'll continue as usual."
