Lewandowski Equals Ronaldo Record
Following his goal in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over Chelsea in their round of 16 first leg tie on Tuesday night, Robert Lewandowski has equalled a remarkable European record set by Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Polish international assisted twice and found the back of the net in the Bavarians’ victory at Stamford Bridge, which was his first knockout goal in the Champions League in two years.

Lewandowski has now struck 11 times in the tournament this season so far, nine of which have been scored in away matches.

The 31-year-old is the first player since Ronaldo to score nine away goals in Europe’s club competition, a feat the Portuguese superstar achieved in the 2013/14 campaign with Real Madrid.

It has been an incredible season for Lewandowski so far, having struck 39 times in 33 matches across all competitions.
