'Man Utd Better Without Ronaldo'
11 November, 2021
A football pundit has claimed that Manchester United have gone backward since Cristiano Ronaldo's return to the club in August.
The 36-year-old returned to the Red Devils at the start of the season after it seemed he was interested in joining Manchester City.
After the Citizens appeared to be chasing his signature, key figures at United intervened to persuade Ronaldo to re-sign for the 20-time English champions instead, leaving many concerned that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted him simply to prevent the club legend from joining forces with their crosstown rivals.
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson, who currently works as a pundit, believes United did not need to bring the Portugal international back, and suggested that he has negatively impacted the way the team performs.
