PSG To Battle With Real For African Star?
05 April, 2020
With some teams already preparing for next season, Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race to sign among Africa's rising stars.
Morocco international Achraf Hakimi has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid on a two-year deal.
While Dortmund are reported to be thinking about making the move long term towards the end of the 2019/2020 season, there are are reports that Los Blancos want to keep the Moroccan.
Spanish publication Diario AS have now reported that the Ligue 1 champions have now entered the frame for the 21-year-old full-back.
The report claims that Madrid outfit are going to offer Hakimi a five-year deal, however the current lockdown because of the COVID-19 virus in Europe has made things difficult.
Should Hakimi decline a new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, Zinedine Zidane would reportedly look to offload the full-back in the next transfer window rather than lose him for free in 2021.
PSG are not the only reported clubs thinking about Hakimi, with Serie A giants Juventus and Frank Lampard's Chelsea believed to keen on the Moroccan's services.
Hakimi has been among Dortmund's standout players this year, having registered seven goals and 10 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
