Venue: Santiago Bernabeu
Eder Militao coming in for Nacho was Los Blancos' only change from the win over Granada, while Ivan Rakitic and Alejandro Gomez were recalled by Sevilla.
The visitors got off to the perfect start as Rafa Mir opened the scoring in the 12th minute after nodding past Thibaut Courtois after being left unmarked at the corner.
Real were nearly two goals down two minutes when Dani Carvajal gifted the ball to Mir in the box and with Courtois beaten, David Alaba got back in time to make the clearance off the line.
After the shaky start, the hosts got back on level terms in the 32nd minute with a close-range finish after Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou could only parry Militao's strike.
Los Blancos nearly completed the turnaround before the break but Marco Asensio's first-time strike from close range sailed over the cross after some good work by Ferland Mendy.
The home side took control in the second half and they went close to taking the lead on 57 minutes when Asensio was play through, but his final effort went just wide of the mark.
Sevilla were proving to be a tough nut to crack in the second half, which prompted Carlo Ancelotti to look to his bench as Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde replaced Luka Modric and Asensio.
Los Blancos got their reward with three minutes left on the clock as Vinicius Junior cut in from the left flank before rifling the ball into the top corner from 20-yards out.
Courtois ensured Los Blancos walked away with maximum points as the Belgian produced a superb save in second-half stoppage time to keep out Thomas Delaney's header as Real held on.
