Report: 5 Players Xavi Wants To Sign
Xavi Hernandez's five-man transfer shortlist at Barcelona has reportedly been revealed ahead of the coming season.

Two new arrivals at the Catalan club have already been confirmed in the form of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie, two international players who have joined the Blaugrana as free agents.

Head coach Xavi, however, is aiming to bolster his squad even further ahead of the 2022/23 season, with it widely known that Robert Lewandowski is viewed as a priority signing for the Spanish tactician and president Joan Laporta.

The Bayern Munich talisman is believed to have held talks with Xavi, although Barcelona are said to still be some way away from meeting the Bundesliga champions' asking price for the 33-year-old. According to Sport, the Spanish side's manager has four other players he would love to bring to the club in this transfer window, with Sevilla defender Jules Kounde included on his wish list.

The publication claims that striking a deal for the young French defender would be complicated, though, as reports suggest the 23-year-old centre-back could cost as much as €60 million (R1 billion).

Xavi is also reportedly eyeing deals for Chelsea duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, two experienced defenders the tactician believes could shore up his backline, while Manchester City's Bernardo Silva is another target.

The Portuguese's potential arrival could depend on the possible sale of Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who is tipped to reunite with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United in the coming months.
