Balotelli Names Star-Studded Dream Team, ROOM For CR7
19 April, 2020
Throughout his career, Italy international Mario Balotelli has played with and against among the best players on the planet, and the former Manchester City star has named his ultimate dream team!
In goal, Balotelli picked former Brazil international Julio Cesar as his team's 'keeper, with the former Inter star supported in defence by countrymen Maicon and Maxwell in the respective wing-back positions.
The Brescia striker then named two of his own compatriots in the centre-back positions, combining Italy's 2006 FIFA World Cup-winning couple of Alessandro Nesta and Fabio Cannavaro to complete a formidable back-line.
In midfield, fellow Italian Andrea Pirlo occupies a deep-lying position behind the box-to-box duo of Steven Gerrard and Yaya Toure, the latter of whom played alongside Balotelli at City.
They are supported by former Real Madrid and AS Roma forward Antonio Cassano, who takes up a supporting role for the lethal strike pairing of Lionel Messi and Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario.
There was no place in Balotelli's side for five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, however, with the likes of Sergio Aguero and Kaka among the other big-name players to have missed out.
