'Messi Phoned Martinez, Told Him To Join Barca'
19 May, 2020
An insider has claimed that FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has given Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez a telephone call to tell him to become listed on the Catalan club.
The 22-year-old Nerazzurri forward has been strongly been associated with a transfer to the LaLiga giants, and is likely to be Luis Suarez's long-term replacement at the Blaugrana.
Messi recently praised his countryman publicly, but Adrian Ruben Fernandez, who works for Martinez's former team Racing Club in Argentina, has claimed that the 32-year-old phoned the Inter striker because he wish to see him join Barca.
"Messi called him and wants him at his side soon, I've no doubts," he told Sport.
"So they are almost defining the procedure of his signing. I know that everything will go perfectly for him in Barcelona and that Lautaro will be a great alternative to Luis Suarez.
"He's his ideal heir, he has barbaric conditions and because of Barca he will continue steadily to grow as a footballer and as a guy."
Martinez has scored 16 goals and assisted an additional four strikes in 31 matches across all competitions for Inter up to now this season.
