Samsung, SK Telecom, Kakao Forge AI Alliance

Samsung, SK Telecom and Kakao include joined hands to build up cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology.
Representatives from the three giants met in SK's office found in Pangyo south of Seoul on Tuesday and agreed to pursue AI exploration together.
The alliance may be the brainchild of SK Telecom chief Park Jung-ho, who proposed it at the 2020 GADGETS Show in Las Vegas in January.
"We need to cooperate if we will be to get the upper submit the global AI race," Park said at the event.
Samsung has been growing AI for good devices while SK focused on growing the technology for mobile communications and Kakao for mobile messaging work with. The three companies stated they aim to incorporate their shared knowledge to develop cutting-edge technology.
Their first joint project is to build up AI to combat the coronavirus pandemic. They intend to roll out a fresh service in the first half of 2021 alerting people when they come near coronavirus threats. It'll use the schedules, travelling and accommodation data and movement data from people's smartphones.
The three companies likewise plan to share their core AI technologies with other businesses to produce a wider range of services.
