Ronaldo Furious With Sub As Man Utd Bounce Back
Manchester United got their top-four push back on track with a 3-1 victory over Brentford, while Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed headlines for his angry reaction to being substitution.

Ronaldo returned to the United line-up in place of Edinson Cavani who missed out completely, while Anthony Martial was back in the squad after sorting out his differences with Ralf Rangnick.

The Bees had the first real opening after 12 minutes when Christian Norgaard slipped down the right side of the box, but United shot-stopper David de Gea produced fine save with his legs.

While United struggled to carve out chances, the hosts should have went ahead in the 32nd minute when Marcel Jensen was left one-on-one with De Gea who pulled off another vital save with his foot. The Red Devils could not create any openings of their own at the other end as they failed to register a single effort on target in the opening 45 minutes. That nearly changed shortly after the break when Ronaldo saw his looping header crash against the crossbar after getting on the end of Bruno Fernandes' cross.

The visitors would go on to take the lead in the 54th minute when Fred's impressive pass over the top found Elanga, who took one and nodded into the bottom corner.

The lead was doubled on the hour mark as a swift counter-attack started with Ronaldo playing in Fernandes who unselfishly teed up Mason Greenwood for the simple finish into an empty net.

Rangnick opted to make a double switch for the final 20 minutes as Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford replaced Greenwood and Ronaldo, who was not happy to be taken off and expressed his displeasure on the sideline.

While Ronaldo was a fan of the decision, Rashford certainly made an impact as the striker collected a pass from Fernandes before firing into the back of the net to extend United's lead.

Brentford did manage to pull a goal back with five minutes left on the clock as Toney fired home from close range after United failed to deal with a long throw-in.
